I was talking to a friend tonight about the difficulty he felt in making a tough life decision -- a particularly challenging fork in the path, shall we say -- and Heraclitus came to mind. However, when it did, this simple, perfect quote wouldn't come to my lips. Instead, I sputtered something about "never stepping in the same river twice." Anyhow, I've dredged up what it was I meant to say:
"Nothing endures but change." [or "change is the only constant"]
-- Heraclitus
